Necessary storage
The site uses browser storage needed for functions such as authentication handoff, payment recovery, security, and remembering your cookie choice. Necessary storage is not controlled by the optional analytics setting because disabling it can prevent requested features from working.
Auction14 also keeps the account, enquiry, transaction and security records needed to provide the services you request. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent an account, payment, submitted enquiry, accepted bid or buyer-verification record from being saved. Google Analytics, PostHog and advertising measurement remain optional.
Anonymous page and property counts
Auction14 keeps its own totals of public page views and successfully loaded property views, grouped by public page and minute. These counters use no cookies, browser storage, visitor or session identifiers, profiles, referrer URLs, campaign labels, account details or private page paths. Individual visit records are not stored in this dataset.
These anonymous counters run independently of optional analytics choices and Global Privacy Control. We use them only for our internal website reports; they are not sent to advertising or replay providers. Counts are retained for 90 days. Ordinary hosting, security and transaction records have their separate purposes and policies.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager and PostHog website analytics are optional and default off. They load only after you allow analytics in Cookie Settings or choose Allow all optional. Choosing Reject optional or withdrawing permission keeps optional analytics disabled. PostHog receives public page paths without query strings.
After analytics consent, PostHog may record interactions on public pages to help us understand website use. Public page content and layout remain visible, while personal details and form contents are masked before recordings are sent. Session replay excludes account, payment, document and buyer-verification pages and stops when analytics permission is withdrawn.
With analytics permission, these services measure public website use and successful account signups, enquiries, membership activations, accepted bids and buyer-verification submissions. Event details do not include names, contact details, messages, bid amounts, payment references or private documents. Success events from protected workflows use a generic event location rather than a private page URL. Analytics permission does not enable Meta or Google advertising permission.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this implementation keeps optional analytics off.
Optional marketing — Meta and Google
Meta Pixel 1654544276311743 defaults off and loads only after you allow optional marketing or choose Allow all optional. It measures public page views, property views and successful enquiries. Meta may use the _fbp and _fbc cookies for advertising attribution. Marketing permission is separate from analytics and email subscriptions.
With the same marketing permission, the Meta Conversions API measures successful new account signups through a server-side CompleteRegistration event. Hashed verified email and account identifiers, the creation time, a fixed signup-page URL, browser user agent and available _fbp/_fbc identifiers support matching and duplicate prevention. A temporary signup confirmation expires after five minutes. Existing sign-ins and post-auction buyer verification are not signup conversions. Rejecting marketing or Global Privacy Control prevents these optional requests.
Google Ads measurement is a separate choice available when analytics is enabled. It allows Google to use advertising identifiers for ad measurement and personalization. Declining this choice keeps Google's advertising storage, advertising user-data and personalization permissions denied while consented analytics can still measure successful outcomes. Google click identifiers are excluded from analytics event locations without this choice. The site disables automatic collection of personal details in its Google tag configuration.
Browser Pixel tracking excludes authentication, account, payment, verification and document routes. Automatic event detection is disabled, and we do not supply browser advanced-matching identifiers. The separate server signup event uses the hashed identifiers described above. Global Privacy Control keeps optional measurement off. Rejecting or withdrawing marketing permission revokes future optional Meta tracking and removes addressable _fbp and _fbc cookies. Information already sent cannot be retracted by changing this choice.
Change your choice
Open Cookie Settings from the footer at any time to manage analytics and marketing separately. Withdrawing optional analytics permission disables future collection by those optional providers in the current browser and removes the analytics script and first-party analytics cookies that the site can address.
Turning analytics off also turns Google Ads measurement off; Meta remains a separate choice. Re-enabling analytics does not re-enable Google Ads automatically. A later grant of permission does not backfill outcomes that occurred while the relevant optional measurement was disabled.
Changing your choice cannot retract analytics information already sent before permission was withdrawn.
Clearing browser storage may cause the consent panel to appear again.
Updates to tracking
This policy is updated when tracking practices change. Review the effective date and use Cookie Settings to manage optional analytics and marketing in your current browser.
